More thefts from cars reported in Havre de Grace

Another rash of thefts from cars was reported in Havre de Grace, this time over the Labor Day weekend.

Havre de Grace police said about eight cars were reported broken into or tampered with on Monday morning.

A cell phone was stolen from a car in the 600 block of Spinnaker Way, a GPS was taken from a car in the 500 block of Hall Court, another GPS and owner's manual were taken from a car in the 200 block of Fender Court, money was taken in the 1500 block of Chapel Road, a wallet was stolen in the 300 block of Lockhart Court and a laptop was stolen in the 200 block of North Washington Street, Julie Morgan of the Havre de Grace Police said Tuesday.

Cars were also tampered with in the 300 block of Goforth Drive and the 1100 block of Oak Tree Court.

"Most of the tampering and thefts from autos are because vehicle[s] are left unlocked," Morgan said via e-mail. "I have no suspects at this time."

Havre de Grace also investigated a rash of thefts from cars in Bulle Rock nearly two weeks ago and in late June.

It's unclear if any of them are related, though one person was arrested in the earliest set of thefts.
