The Harford Tech girls soccer team kept itself in line for an UCBAC Susquehanna (lower) Division crown Wednesday with a 5-1 win at Havre de Grace. The Cobras led 2-0 at the half.
Shannon Conlon showed the way for Tech, (5-0 league, 7-1-1 overall) scoring three goals. Sarah North and Kersten O'Brien added single goals, while assists were dished out by North (two), Dana Waskiewicz and O'Brien.
Addie Richardson tallied Havre de Grace's (2-3 league, 3-4 overall) goal unassisted, driving a direct kick from 26 yards out into the goal.
Tech keeper Julie Ransone finished with four saves and Havre de Grace goalie Riley Arnold made 16.
Rams bounce back
Edgewood bounced back Wednesday after Friday's loss, shutting out visiting Rising Sun, 4-0, in Chesapeake (upper) action. The Rams (4-1 league, 8-1 overall) Ladae Boykin scored twice to lead the Rams, while Isabella Barbieri and Alex van Graafeiland added single goals.
Edgewood had assists from Megan Poniatowski, Caitlin Rankin, Alyssa Rankin, Abigail Olah and Melanie Parncutt.
Edgewood goalie Nasia Denegal made 10 saves and Rising Sun keeper Ciera Bartz had 14 saves.
Eagles beat Elks
Aberdeen blanked visiting Elkton, 4-0, Wednesday in a Susquehanna game.
The Eagles (3-2 league, 3-7 overall) led 2-0 at the half. Faith Edmonson, Kiera Young, Julia Sanders and Erin Baier netted goals, while assists were credited to Becca Lewis, Leah Hardin and Hunter Woods.
Patriots beat Mercy
John Carroll (6-7-1 overall, 3-3-1 league) inched closer to .500 Tuesday, beating host Mercy, 3-2, in an IAAM A Conference game.
Caroline Barwick scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, and Kristen Isoldi added a single goal. Abby Hormes and Jenna Santoro had assists. Patriots keeper Katie Cooper had nine saves.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
