Police seeking public's help finding driver in fatal hit and run in Cecil

Maryland State Police are asking for the public's help to find the car involved in the hit and run death of a Pylesville man earlier this month.

Mark Grubbs, of the 400 block of Wheeler School Road, was found in the area of Sweeny's Bar, in the 100 block of Conowingo Road, at about 2:40 a.m. July 5 and "the circumstances on how the deceased came to be at that location are still in question," according to a police press release Friday afternoon.

Police determined earlier that Grubbs was killed in a hit and run crash by a driver who remains unknown, according to the release.

"They are asking anyone who may have been in the area of Sweeny's Bar, that night or may have knowledge of what occurred that night to contact them," according to the release.

Police believe that someone on the "well-traveled" road may have seen something helpful to the investigation, according to the release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Trooper Vogt at 410-996-7800. Callers may remain anonymous.
