Truck driver charged with child porn in Aberdeen

A truck driver has been charged with taking sexual photos of two young girls he was supposed to be watching at an Aberdeen home.

Walter Percey Holmes III, 25, was ordered held without bail by Harford County District Court Judge Victor Butanis during a bail review Monday after he was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of sex abuse of a minor, two counts of possessing child pornography and two counts of filming children in a sex act.

Holmes was caring for a 6-year-old and 4-year-old girl in the 200 block of Perrywood Court on Friday, according to the statement of charges.

The girls' mother was later trying to use the GPS feature on Holmes' phone and found two pictures of each girl in a sexual pose, according to the charges.

The time stamp on the photos was the same as the time Holmes was left alone with the girls.

Holmes told a Harford County Sheriff's Office detective he was living in Hurlock, in Dorchester County, but later admitted he was homeless and has been living out of his semi-trailer truck, which has been parked on the parking lot of Home Depot in Edgewood.

Holmes told police he is an "over the road," or long distance, truck driver and does not know where he will be until he is dispatched.

Holmes told Butanis on Monday that he had lived at the Hurlock address for 11 months with his mother, her boyfriend and the boyfriend's mother. He said he was working with a truck company for 11 months until this incident.

Public defender Bruce Andres said Holmes is single, has no children, graduated from Joppatowne High School and lived in Baltimore County and City previously.

He has no previous convictions and has not failed to appear in court.

Holmes was originally held on $250,000 bail but Butanis revoked his bail, citing "the nature of the charges and that he has been living out of his truck."
