Two people were rescued from a boat after it started taking on water while in the Susquehanna Flats area of the Chesapeake Bay Saturday evening.
First responders were alerted around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Hurst said the two adults – who were not identified – were rescued from the vessel, which was located southeast of Millard E. Tydings Memorial Park in Havre de Grace.
Neither person was injured, and they were brought back to shore in the Susquehanna Hose Company boat, Hurst reported shortly after 7:20 p.m.
The Susquehanna Flats cover the shallow "delta" formed where the Chesapeake Bay and the Susquehanna River meet, and is a popular spring fishing spot for anglers seeking stripers and other local fish species, according to the WallEye Pete fishing website.
