Bullet hits home in Aberdeen following reported street fight Sunday

Aberdeen police are investigating a gunshot during a reported street fight on the city's west side Sunday night.

A bullet hit an occupied house in the 400 block of Washington Street but did not injure anyone, the Aberdeen Police Department said in a news release Monday afternoon.

"Witnesses advised that a fight had occurred in the street involving several subjects and during the altercation one subject produced a handgun and fired a single shot," the release states.

The shooter fled before police arrived. He is described only as a thin, black man wearing a white T-shirt, black vest and brown shoes.

Havre De Grace Police Department and the Harford County Sheriff's Office assisted with the call.
