Aberdeen 7-Eleven robbed Thursday

An Aberdeen 7-Eleven store was robbed early Thursday morning, and one of two clerks in the store at the time was struck by the suspected robber's weapon, the Aberdeen Police Department said.

Aberdeen officers responded to the store in the 700 block of West Bel Air Avenue at 3:33 a.m., according to a department news release.

The two female clerks told officers that a black man who was about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds "displayed" a handgun and said he was robbing the store, according to the release.

The suspect was wearing a dark ski mask, a "puffy" gray jacket, a yellow shirt and blue jeans.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, and he hit one of the clerks with his gun as he ordered them to get on the floor.

He then left the store.

The woman who had been hit declined medical treatment, police said. The second clerk was not hurt.

Anyone who has information is asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department's Criminal Investigations Section, 410-272-2121.
