A Bel Air man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that closed Route 155 in Havre de Grace Sunday evening.

George Samuel Crouse, 36, died in a pick-up truck that overturned near the ramp to southbound I-95 traffic, according to a Maryland State Police press release.

The crash was reported shortly after 7 p.m., according to Harford Fire Blog on Facebook. The victim was also reported to be trapped in "trauma arrest," according to the Facebook post.

The driver was found dead in the pickup when emergency responders arrived, Scott Hurst, chief of the Susquehanna Hose Company of Havre de Grace, said.

"We are still waiting for certain things to get done before we can extricate the driver," he said at the time.

Crouse was found to have lost control of his 1999 Ford F-250 truck while driving east near I-95, according to the press release.

"The vehicle began to yawl just before striking the curb and overturning off the roadway onto its rooftop," the release said.

The initial investigation showed speed to be a factor, but distracted driving and alcohol or drug impairment was not ruled out, according to the release.

"Numerous" empty beer cans were found inside the truck, according to the release.

The highway was re-opened at about 9:45 p.m. The ramp from southbound I-95 to westbound Route 155 had been closed, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.
