The Baltimore City school system is investigating a case of police impersonation, officials said Wednesday.

Officials, who did not identify the student, said he was posing as a city school police officer and declined to provide further details.

According to a statement from the school district, the Department of Juvenile Services and the Baltimore state’s attorney’s office are “handling all law enforcement issues related to this student,” and the district is “taking all appropriate steps” outlined in its discipline policies.

“The matter remains under investigation,” the statement said.
