Chesapeake High School athletic director Chip Snyder, who was relieved of his duties pending a school board investigation regarding the Chesapeake wrestling team, has been reinstated to his position, Anne Arundel school officials said Friday.
Snyder, who also teaches physical education at the school, was removed from the athletic director position while the school board investigated allegations that procedures weren't followed during a December wrestling trip to the Eastern Shore and that the breakdown in protocol could have diminished students' safety. Chesapeake wrestling coach Paul Tolle was also removed due to the same allegations.
Anne Arundel Schools spokesman Bob Mosier said on Friday that the investigation has been concluded and added, "Chip Snyder will return to Chesapeake on Monday as physical education teacher and athletic director. I cannot go into any of the other findings of the investigation, but he will be back at Chesapeake on Monday."
Snyder did not return calls to his home on Friday evening.
