Baltimore County teachers will have an opportunity to express their concerns and ask questions of Superintendent Dallas Dance Thursday night when he holds a town meeting for teachers.
The teachers have recently filed a grievance against the school system for the additional workload that has resulted from the introduction of the Common Core standards this fall. Elementary school teachers have been particularly outspoken about their frustration at not having the curriculum ready well enough in advance of the time they are expected to teach it.
In addition, an overhaul of the teacher evaluation system is requiring more work on the part of teachers.
The meeting will be held at New Town High School from 5 p.m. to 6:30 pm.
