Woman survives stabbing in Northeast Baltimore

Police arrested a 22-year-old man Saturday and charged him with stabbing a woman in a Northeast Baltimore apartment complex.

Gregory Hilton Washington of Baltimore was charged with attempted murder, assault and breaking and entering.

The attack occurred about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6000 block of Amberwood Road, the area of an apartment complex between Moravia Road and Frankford Avenue. Police had originally reported that the woman had died of multiple stab wounds, but later said she survived.

Police said Sunday she was listed in critical but stable condition at a hospital, but police didn't name that hospital.

Police spokesman Sgt. Jarron L. Jackson said the department's family crimes unit was investigating the case.
