Coast Guard rescues swimmer, 2 lifeguards in Ocean City

A swimmer and two lifeguards were rescued from the water in Ocean City Sunday afternoon, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

Strong currents swept a swimmer into the inlet, prompting two members of the Ocean City Beach Patrol to jump in after the swimmer but the lifeguards were also swept out by the current, the Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard used a boat to rescue all three from the water. No injuries were reported.
