Pennsylvania officer dies after SWAT training with Baltimore County Police

Baltimore County Police said an officer from a Pennsylvania agency died after a SWAT training exercise Sunday.

An officer from the York City Police Department suffered a medical emergency during training exercises at the campus pool at the Community College of Baltimore County in Dundalk, Baltimore County police said.

The officer was among 12 participating in SWAT school training. The officer was pulled from the pool and treated by medics who were on scene during the training. The officer was taken to a local hospital, where he was removed from life-support and later pronounced dead.

Baltimore County police did not name the officer Friday. But the York Daily Record newspaper identified him as Officer Alex Sable, 37, who was training to become a member of York County's Quick Response Team when he went into cardiac arrest.
