Police identify woman's body found outside Pikesville home

An elderly woman reported missing by Baltimore County earlier this month was identified as the woman found dead outside a Pikesville home on Sunday.

Police said 88-year-old Irene Kuperstein of the 6900 block of Marsue Drive in Pikesville, appeared to have been dead for some time after she was discovered by a homeowner outside a Church Lane home Sunday night.

Officers were called at 7:25 p.m. Sunday to a home in the 300 block after the homeowner discovered the body outside and called 911. Police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter said the homeowner had been on vacation and made the discovery when they returned.

Police had previously released pictures of Kuperstein on surveillance video leaving a Giant Grocery store in the 6600 block of Reisterstown Road at 9:21 p.m. August 2.

The autopsy is not yet been completed but police said there are no signs of foul play.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated where the body was located when it was found. The Sun regrets the error.
