Baltimore County police charge Jarrettsville man in missing woman's murder

Baltimore County police have charged a Jarrettsville man in the death of a missing woman whose body was discovered in her own home early Friday morning.

Police have charged Kenneth Kyle Quick, Jr., 44, of the 1300 block of Knopp Road, with first-degree murder in the death of Athena Dardamanis, 63, who was reported missing to police by her friends.

Police found Dardamanis’ body after searching her home in the 8600 block of Trumps Mill Road in Rosedale on Thursday. An autopsy completed Friday determined the manner of death to be homicide by multiple traumatic injuries to the upper body.

Police identified Quick as the suspect. Police said he had stayed at Dardamanis' home on recent occasions and was known to owe her a large sum of money, which she had told friends she intended to collect just before her disappearance.

Quick is being held without bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
