Man, 28, charged in fatal stabbing near Oliver playground

A 28-year-old Baltimore man was charged Thursday with stabbing a man to death on a sidewalk near a playground in Oliver last weekend, police said.

Witnesses identified Justin Lewis, of the 1200 block of E. Lafayette Ave., as the man who killed Gregory Nealy, 51, in the same block on July 20, police said. Nealy lived in the 1200 block of E. Chase St, according to court records.

Detectives found Nealy's body with several stab wounds to the arms and torso lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk near the corner of Aiken and E. Lafayette streets at about 12:40 p.m. A search of the area turned up a droplet of blood behind a home on E. Lafayette Street and a black folding knife with blood on it on Aiken Street, police said.

A witness on Monday identified Lewis as the suspect, and police arrested him Thursday. Lewis faces first-degree murder and dangerous weapon charges. He is being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking and Intake Facility without bail.

No attorney was listed for Lewis in court records, and no phone number was listed for his address.
