A 39-year-old man shot Monday evening in Southwest Baltimore has died, while five other men were wounded in shootings across the city Monday night into Tuesday morning, according to police.
Ricardo Lyles was shot in the 300 block of S. Fulton Ave. in the city’s Carrollton Ridge neighborhood about 7 p.m. Monday, police said.
He was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he later died.
His death marks the 245th homicide in Baltimore in 2017, a near-record pace.
After that, five other men were shot in four separate shootings across the city, police said.
About 8 p.m. Monday, a 29-year-old man was shot in the thigh in the 1400 block of Stonewood Road in the New Northwood neighborhood in Northeast Baltimore, police said. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
About 11:20 p.m., an officer responded to a local hospital and found a 22-year-old man who had been shot in the biceps, police said. An investigation revealed the man was shot in the 3900 block of Chesterfield Ave. in the Belair-Edison neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore, police said.
At 12:02 a.m. Tuesday, a 21-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds to the back in the 1600 block of Baker St. in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood of West Baltimore, police said.
He was transported to a local hospital, police said.
About 8:55 a.m., officers located a 60-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both suffering from gunshot wounds to the legs, in the 1200 block of N. Milton Ave. in the Broadway East neighborhood of East Baltimore. Both men were transported to a local hospital.
