Five men were shot, one fatally, in about two hours Friday night, Baltimore police said.
At about 9 p.m., officers went to an area hospital where a man who had been shot arrived. Police said the man had been shot in the 2100 block of Wilkens Avenue in Carrollton Ridge.
No additional information about a suspect or motive was provided by police.
At about 10 p.m., another man walked into an area hospital after being shot in the 2600 block of Reisterstown Road in Mondawmin, police said. When officers arrived, they found a 37-year old man being treated by the hospital staff for a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police said the victim told officers he was operating an illegal taxi cab when a passenger pulled out a gun and announced a robbery. The victim and suspect struggled over the gun and the suspect then shot the victim. The suspect fled from the scene and the victim drove himself to the hospital.
About an hour later, a third man arrived at an area hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. The victim, a 20-year-old, told police he was walking in the 200 block of N. Fremont Avenue in Poppleton when he was shot by an unknown suspect.
At about the same time, two men were shot in the 500 block of E. 26th Street in Better Waverly. One victim, who has not been identified, died at an area hospital from his injuries. A short time later, another man walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand, who police said had also been shot in the block.
