A male victim shot in Northwest Baltimore on Thursday has died, Baltimore Police confirmed Saturday.
Police said the victim’s age and identity were not immediately available.
Officers were called to the 4700 block of Reisterstown Road, in the city’s Lucille Park neighborhood, about 2:55 p.m. on Thursday for a shooting and found the victim with gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead.
The death brings the total number of homicides in Baltimore in 2017 to 331, which makes this year the second deadliest on record on a per capita basis, with more than two weeks left in the year.
The per capita record was set in 2015, when there were 344 homicides.
The most killings ever counted in Baltimore in a single year was 353 in 1993, when the city had about 100,000 more residents than it does currently.
