Man shot in leg in Sandtown-Winchester

A man was shot in West Baltimore's Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood Sunday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded around 1:38 p.m. to the intersection of Presbury and Fulton streets, where they found a man with a gunshot wound in his leg. He was taken to a hospital, treated and released.

After further investigation, police determined that the shooting happened nearby, in the 1300 block of Whatcoat St.

No suspect or motive has been identified by police. Western District detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2477.

In the same neighborhood last month, 22-year-old Barron Mccree was stabbed to death a block from his home during a violent weekend in which three were killed and two were wounded in the city.
