Two shot in Baltimore, bringing tally to eight in 24 hours

Two more men were shot in Baltimore Thursday night, bringing the victim count to eight in 24 hours after two triple shootings in the city since Wednesday night

One was shot in the back and arm in the 2800 block of Edmondson Ave. just before 10 p.m. Thursday, police said. He was taken to a hospital, and his condition was not released.

Western District detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2477.

The other walked into a hospital around 10:45 p.m. Thursday and told police he'd been shot in the first block of Monastery Ave. His condition was also not released.

Southwest District detectives were investigating that shooting, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2488.

None of the shootings were fatal, though one person shot Wednesday night was in grave condition, police said.

Police did not identify any suspects or motives in any of the shootings.

Baltimore police said Thursday they planned to step up enforcement with both uniformed and plainclothed officers to prevent the violence from spilling into Memorial Day weekend.
