Three shot, one fatally, in Pen Lucy neighborhood

Three men were shot, one of them fatally, while standing Friday evening on the porch of a home in North Baltimore's Pen Lucy neighborhood, police said.

The shootings continue a torrid pace of killings over the past month, with 27 people slain in the past 30 days in the city.

"They need to do something about it — it's too many shootings," said Stacey Stewart, who saw the wounded men after the shooting.

Police said they received word of the shooting about 4:45 p.m., at an A-frame-style home on the 600 block of Wyanoke Road that residents say functions as an apartment building.

One of the unidentified victims was pronounced dead about 5:20 p.m., while police spokesman Sgt. Sarah Connolly said the other two were expected to survive. Eight evidence markers dotted the ground across the street.

Gloria Harris said she heard the shots — "It sounded like a cannon," she said — from her home and looked out the window. She said she saw the three men drop on the porch. She saw someone open the door from inside the home, survey the scene, and close the door.

On Friday, police also identified a man who was shot to death in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood Thursday evening. Police said Eddie Clifton Blick Jr., 20, was walking in the 1300 block of Laurens St., around the corner from his home, about 4:20 p.m. when an unknown gunman shot him several times with a handgun.

And the police released chilling video from a killing that occurred Saturday night in Northeast Baltimore, depicting a gunman wearing a surgical mask, sunglasses and latex gloves bursting into a barbershop in the 4400 block of Frankford Ave. with a handgun pointed at his victim, David Porter. When his gun jams, he calmly steps back and fixes it before carrying out the execution, and no one in the barbershop appears to react.

Porter, 42, was the son of a longtime city police dispatcher. Police ask anyone with information about any of the recent killings to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
