Police: Two killed, one shot in Baltimore overnight into Saturday morning

Baltimore police are investigating three shootings — two of them fatal — that occurred overnight and into Saturday morning.

Around 11:45 p.m. Friday, officers were called to the 1600 block of Cliftview Ave. in East Baltimore for a report of a shooting, according to police. Officers found Devante Monroe, 24, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Monroe was transported to an area hospital, where he died of his wound.

Police believe Monroe was in the 1700 block of Durham St. when he was shot by an unknown suspect.

On Saturday, officers were called around 2:45 a.m. to the 500 block of Annabel Ave. in South Baltimore’s Brooklyn neighborhood for a report of a shooting. Officers found a 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his body. He was transported to an area hospital.

Investigators believe the victim was involved in an argument at the location. During the argument, the victim was shot, police said. Detectives from the Citywide Shooting Unit are investigating this incident.

About 9:45 a.m. Saturday, police were called to the 2700 block of The Alameda in Northeast Baltimore, where they found a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died of his wounds.
