1 killed, 1 critical in overnight shootings in Baltimore

A man was shot and killed in West Baltimore, while another man was critically wounded in a shooting in East Baltimore early Tuesday morning, police said.

Bruce Paige, a 46-year-old man from the Penrose neighborhood, was found with several gunshot wounds to his head and torso around 1 a.m. in the 500 block of N. Monroe St., on the border between the Midtown-Edmondson and Harlem Park neighborhoods. He was pronounced dead at a hospital about 20 minutes later.

Police say he was walking in the block when he was shot but had no further information. Anyone with information is asked to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.

Shortly after 2 a.m., a 35-year-old man was inside his car in the 1200 block of N. Decker Ave. in East Baltimore when he was shot multiple times in his back. Police found him inside a still-running car in the middle of the street.

The East Baltimore victim was in critical but stable condition later Tuesday morning. A motive has not yet been determined in the case. Anyone with information can call district detectives at 410-396-2433.
