A 34-year-old man was killed in Southwest Baltimore early Wednesday morning, police said.
Police responded to the 700 block of Poplar Grove Street around 1 a.m. and found the victim bleeding heavily in the grass. Medics transported the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police identified the man as Daivon Evans, of the 700 block of Poplar Grove Street.
The preliminary investigation found that Evans was on a nearby block when he was attacked by several men with a blunt force object, police said. He then returned to his street and collapsed in the grass.
