Fatal shooting brings weekend death toll in city to three

A man was shot to death in West Baltimore and another was found wounded Saturday night, police said.

At 11:45 p.m. police officers arrived at the 1300 block of West Lafayette Avenue and found a 23-year-old man shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital and died. The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information may call 410-396-2100.

Also Saturday night, at 10:45 p.m. officers arrived at the 1300 block of N. Carey Street, and found a 26-year old man shot in the neck. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Western District detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-396-2477.

In two other weekend homicides, polilce identified the victim found Saturday in the 2500 block of Huron Street as Larry Henderson, aged 30. His last known address was the 3800 block of Evergreen Avenue. Police said they were still trying to notify the next of kin of a man found stabbed to death near the intersection of Baltimore and Charles streets early Saturday morning.

Kirby Fowler, the president of the Downtown Partnership, said Saturday that police believe the victim was from Baltimore County. Police have released little other detail on the incident.
