Baltimore police have ruled the death of an infant a homicide.

The September death of an infant who sustained head trauma in May has been ruled a homicide, Baltimore police said Wednesday.

Khalil Cannady, who was six months old, died Sept. 24 after being injured on the evening of May 25, police said. Western District officers responded to an area hospital for a report of possible child abuse at the time of the injury, police said.

The department walked back an initial statement that a preliminary investigation revealed the infant may have been dropped on his head by a sibling.

Detectives are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-296-2100 or the anonymous Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

Also on Thursday, police identified two recent homicide victims from the Southern District.

Travis Green, 25, was killed in the 2400 block of Paca Street on Wednesday.

Anthony Graham, 31, was killed in the 600 block of North Glover Street on Tuesday.
