Former city pool operator killed in Fells Point late Saturday

A man was killed in Fells Point late Saturday. Police believe shooting followed an argument.

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed in Fells Point late Saturday after getting into an argument, police said.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of Domonique Dungee of Harlem Park. Police said he was shot in the torso around 11:55 p.m. in the 500 block of S. Broadway.

Dungee recently resigned as a swimming pool operator for the city's Recreation and Parks Department, officials said. Online records show he was hired in 2007 and earned $14,500 for the part-time job last year.

"Mr. Dungee was employed with the Aquatic Division since he was a teen," agency spokeswoman Gwendolyn Chambers wrote in an email. "Our staff is devastated by this news and send our condolences to his family."

Dungee is among more than 100 people who have been killed in Baltimore this year. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he died shortly after midnight Sunday.

Investigators believe he got into an argument with an unknown suspect that led to the shooting, according to police.

Anyone with information may call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
