Man killed, woman injured in Mondawmin shooting

A passenger in a minivan shot a man and woman in Mondawmin, police said.

A man was killed and a woman was injured after a double shooting Thursday evening in Mondawmin, Baltimore police said.

Officers responding to the 2100 block of W. North Ave. around 5:20 p.m. found a 36-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man died at the hospital and the woman is expected to survive, police said.

A passenger in a silver minivan got out and started shooting at the victims after the van made a U-turn on North Avenue, according to a preliminary investigation. Afterward, the passenger returned to the van, and the vehicle drove away, police said. Detectives believe the man was the intended target.
