Baltimore police were investigating a shooting Saturday night in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore — one of nearly 900 shootings in the city this year.
About 8:40 p.m., police were called to the 1900 block of Wilhelm St. to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Medics were called and took the victim to an area hospital.

As of Nov. 11, there were 881 shootings this year in Baltimore — an increase of 8 percent from the same time period last year.
