Crash into dumpster kills one in Glen Burnie

A Pasadena man was killed Friday evening after he crashed his Chrysler minivan into a dumpster on Ritchie Highway, Anne Arundel County Police said.

Clifton Taylor Kimes, 67, was driving south on Crain Highway around 8 p.m. when his minivan crossed over into the northbound lanes, according to police. He swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and drove off the road, hitting two signs at a McDonalds in the 6900 block of Ritchie Highway before crashing into the dumpster behind a Wendy's, according to police.

When officers arrived the driver was in cardiac arrest, which police said they believe might have been the cause of the crash.
