Man killed, another injured in separate Baltimore shootings Saturday, police say

A man was killed and another was injured in separate shootings Saturday, Baltimore Police said.

Police stated that officers responded to the 100 block of N. Monastery Ave. in the Allendale neighborhood around 1 a.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting. There, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died, police said.

Police on Monday identified the victim as 17-year-old Oliver Santos.

Police said they responded to another shooting at the 400 block of E. 20th St. in the Barclay neighborhood of East Baltimore around midnight Saturday. Officers located a 39-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder and foot. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Police said they learned through a preliminary investigation that the victim was visiting a friend in the area when he was shot by a male suspect. The suspect then barricaded himself into an apartment within the block. Police said swat officers were called to the location and arrested the suspect. Detectives are currently interviewing the suspect.
