Baltimore police are investigating three overnight shootings that wounded two men and killed a third.
At 1:20 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of E. Monument St. They found a 23-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where police said he died of his injuries. Homicide detectives have no suspects in the shooting.
The homicide was the city's 234th murder this year.
Less than an hour later, officers were called to an area hospital to investigate a 25-year-old man who had walked in with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim told investigators he was standing in the 3200 block of W. Baltimore Street when he heard a gunshot and realized he was shot, police said. Detectives are investigating the shooting and have no suspects.
Just before 3 a.m., police were called to an area hospital again to investigate a gunshot victim who had walked in for treatment. When officers arrived they found a 19-year old man with a gunshot wound to his back. The victim told investigators he was standing near Reisterstown Road and Coldspring Lane when two unknown suspects approached him. The suspects shot at him before the victim said they fled. Detectives in the Northwestern police district are investigating the shooting.
Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, officers found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm at the intersection of East Fayette Street and North Central Avenue. He was taken to a local hospital, and Southeast district detectives are investigating.
