A man was arrested in Baltimore early Wednesday morning after a police pursuit in Perry Hall, according to police.
Shortly after midnight, a county police officer pulled over a vehicle for speeding near the intersection of Belair Road and Chapel Road, said Cpl. Cathy Batton, a county police spokeswoman. The driver took off in the vehicle, which was stolen, before the officer could approach.
County police pursued the vehicle for about three minutes before the chase was called off, Batton said. Surrounding police jurisdictions were then alerted to the incident so they could also monitor the situation.
Soon after, the man, who was in a 2008 Honda Accord, crashed the car near Belair Road and Northern Parkway, said Lt. Eric Kowalczyk, a city police spokesman. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Kowalczyk said no one else was injured in the crash, but further details were not immediately available because city police are still investigating the accident.
The man faces motor vehicle theft and false identity charges. Police have not yet released his name.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
