Man shot Thursday, police ID Tuesday shooting victim

A man was shot in the leg in Baltimore Thursday afternoon, police said.

Police were called around 12:23 p.m. for a reported shooting in the 600 block of Ashburton St., where they found the victim. He was taken to an area hospital and is in good condition, according to police.

The department did not release any information on a suspect or motive. Western district detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2477.

Additionally, police identified the man shot dead in the parking lot of a Northeast Baltimore apartment complex Tuesday night as Deitrich Fitts, 46.

Fitts, of the 100 block of Lee Rd., was found in a car in the Wellington Gate apartment complex in the 2400 block of Wellbridge Dr. around 10 p.m., police said. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Homicide detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-6129.
