Baltimore police have identified two people who died in unrelated shootings this week.
Police said David Armstrong was found fatally shot at the bottom of a stairwell in Southwest Baltimore on Monday night. Armstrong, 47, found in the 4300 block of Adelle Terrace in the city's Irvington neighborhood, was shot in the torso by an unknown assailant, police said. Police said the victim's last address may have been in the 4300 block of Dana Street, not far from the crime scene.
The case remains under investigation, and police said they have no suspects.
Also Thursday, police released the identity of the second victim found in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday night in North Baltimore.
Investigators believe Alvin Baird, 36, fatally shot his wife before shooting himself in the head in their home in the 3900 block of Frisby Street.
Police identified his wife as 33-year-old Candace Baird but co-workers knew her as Candace Hurt. She worked as a state probation agent and volunteer conflict mediator.
Police were called to the couple's home Tuesday night to investigate gunshots when they found a boy outside the home who directed police inside where he told them they would find a dead relative.
Police did not reveal the relationship of the child to the victims, and spokesman Sgt. Anthony Smith said he did not know what precipitated the shooting.
