Baltimore police officer, three other men arrested in Baltimore County prostitution sting

Four men, including a Baltimore City police officer, were arrested in a prostitution sting in Baltimore County, police said.

Police said the sting involved the men "coming to a Baltimore County location, soliciting prostitution and offering money to undercover detectives."

Sgt. Kevin Lamont Simmons, 40; Edward Yuditsky, 42; Trevor William Joseph Barnes, 44; and Mark Kane, 48; were each charged with two counts of general prostitution.

UPDATE: Prosecutors dropped charges against Yuditsky.

Kane, of the 6100 block of Patrick Dr., in Eldersburg, also faces drug charges and is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $5,000 bail. The others were released on their own recognizance.

Simmons, who has been a Baltimore police officer since January 1996, was assigned to neighborhood patrol, the city police department said. A spokesman would not confirm whether he would be suspended.

Yuditsky, who lives in the unit block of Sugarvale Way in Lutherville, declined to comment.

Barnes, of the 2400 block of Braddock Rd., in Mount Airy, and Kane, of the 2900 block of Louis Ave., in Baltimore, could not be reached for comment.
