A 32-year-old man was shot dead late Sunday in Southwest Baltimore.
Investigating a report of a shooting in the 400 block of Parksley Avenue, police found Terry Williams lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Williams, who lives in the 100 block of Upmanor Road, was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:21 a.m.
Police said Williams was shot several times. They have no suspects or motives and homicide detectives ask anyone with information to call 410-396-2100.
Police on Monday also released the name of the officer who shot and killed a suspect on Saturday. Olufemi Akinwande, a five-year veteran, fatally shot James Brown, 41, after a gunfight broke out in the alleys near the 500 block of N. Madeira St.
Police said Akinwande, 29, an Eastern District Special Enforcement officer, and Brown were engaged in a physical struggle when Brown broke free, ran down an alley and fired multiple shots toward Akinwande.
Akinwande returned fire, killing Brown. Police said Brown lived in the 1300 block of N. Ensor St.
Akinwande, who was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, has not been involved in a police shooting before, police said. He was placed on administrative leave with pay, pending an investigation by homicide detectives.
Police were also investigating a northeast Baltimore shooting on Monday in the 1500 block of Stonewood Road where a man was reported shot. No other information was available.
