Police investigating man found dead in car in Clifton Park

A 45-year-old Baltimore man was found dead inside a vehicle in Clifton Park Monday evening, and police said detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.

The killing was the 12th homicide Baltimore Police are investigating in the first 11 days of August.

Police said officers called to 2801 block of Saint Lo Drive, the address of the Lake Clifton High School campus, at about 5:07 p.m. The victim, George Darnell Myrick, was inside of a vehicle and appeared to be suffering from trauma to his head and body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Myrick's last known address was in Northeast Baltimore, according to police. No possible motive was provided.

Police also said that a man shot early Monday in West Baltimore's Northwest Community Action neighborhood has died. The victim, 28-year-old Qurell Gittings, was shot at about 12:25 a.m. in the 2900 block of Brighton St. and was listed in critical condition, and later died from those injuries.

A 33-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 2100 block of N. Pulaski Street shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In addition, police identified the man fatally shot Saturday in the 1300 block of E. Lafayette Ave. in the Oliver community as Dominic Baker, 29.

All of the cases were unsolved as of Tuesday.
