Two arrested in Cherry Hill home invasion; shot fired under investigation

Baltimore Police arrested two men who they say were fleeing the scene of a Cherry Hill home invasion, and an internal investigation is underway regarding whether an officer fired his weapon.

Police confirmed that a home invasion occurred on Round Road Thursday night, and that officers caught two men who were to be charged in connection with the crime. A shot fired during the apprehension is being investigated by internal affairs.

Few details were released, and the agency withheld an incident report of the crime, citing an internal investigation. The names of the suspects were also withheld, because they had not yet seen a District Court commissioner.

"We're looking into whether an officer fired his weapon," said Sgt. Eric Kowalczyk, a police spokesman. "The exact nature of the incident, and the events that transpired, are being looked at."
