Police identify man found dead in vacant West Baltimore home

A man shot multiple times in the head whose body was found decomposing in a vacant West Baltimore home was identified Tuesday as a 27-year-old who was acquitted of a murder three years ago.

Police said the body of Gregory Lee was found Thursday inside a home in the 2800 block of Presbury St. Investigators have not provided a possible motive and said the case is open.

Lee was charged in 2010 in the kidnapping and murder three years earlier of 21-year-old Kwame Osafo, whose body was found on the side of a road inside Leakin Park. His head was covered in duct tape, police said in charging documents at the time.

Lee was arrested along with a man named Andre Cox, but court records show prosecutors dropped all charges against both men in February 2011. The reason the cases were dropped was not clear Tuesday night.
