Robbery try Two men, one armed with a knife and the other who may have been armed with a handgun, attempted to rob a man, 20, at Liberty Road and St. Luke's Lane about 3 a.m. Wednesday, but fled into a woods instead.
Burglary Someone entered a house in the 2700 block of Rogate Circle on Tuesday without leaving any signs of forced entry and stole cash, jewelry and a cell phone, all worth more than $2,900.

Victim named Police identified Wednesday the man fatally shot Tuesday night while he and two other men stood on a parking lot near the BP station in the 100 block of N. Central Ave. as Hubert Benston, 38, of the 2200 block of E. North Ave. No arrest had been made. Detective Kevin Hagan, a police spokesman, said Benston was shot in the head and upper body about 8:40 p.m. and that he died at Johns Hopkins Hospital less than an hour later. The other victims also went to Hopkins and were expected to survive. Metro Crime Stoppers at 420-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and an indictment.Baltimore Co. – Wilkens
Shooting Police were seeking two men, one armed with a handgun and the other a shotgun, who shot a man in the 400 block of Bigley Ave. in Lansdowne about 8 p.m. Wednesday. A motive was unknown. The victim was taken by a county Fire Department ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was expected to survive. After the shooting, the two armed men entered a car occupied by two other men and sped off, police said.Baltimore Co. – Franklin

if the city is furloughing firemen because of a budget shortfall, how can baltimore afford to build another stadium for a washington soccer team? i am a soccer fan from way back ands my children played for years so don't give me the song and dance about not liking soccer.
