Police reports in Baltimore city and county

Victim named Police released the name Monday of the man fatally shot Friday morning in the 3000 block of Elgin Ave. as Deontae Carter, 24, of the 2300 block of N. Rosedale St. District police responding to a man shot inside a car about 6:35 a.m. found Carter bleeding from at least one gunshot wound. Police said Carter was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later by Fire Department medics. No arrest had been made, and police knew of no motive for the slaying. Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and an indictment.

Officer assaulted Police were seeking a man in his late teens or early 20s who threw a large chunk of concrete at an unmarked police car about 10:45 p.m. Sunday that shattered the driver's-side window. The officer, Detective Al Marcus, was in uniform and was not injured. Lt. James Kelly said Marcus was seated in his patrol car parked in the 1700 block of Lamont Court when a young man threw the concrete at his car. Despite an intensive search of the area, the man was not captured. Kelly said the man who threw the concrete faces charges that include assaulting a police officer and destruction of Police Department property. Burglary try Police were seeking two men wearing masks and gloves who broke into an apartment in the 900 block of Holgate Road about 1 a.m. Sunday and fled moments later when they were surprised by the female occupant. No property was reported missing.

Burglary A 32-inch-screen TV and a Wii system were stolen between Saturday night or Sunday morning from a house in the first block of Beaver Pond Circle by someone who entered through a sliding glass door. Total value of the property was $1,100.

Vandalism A 2002 Saturn was parked in the 3100 block of Willoughby Road between Friday and Sunday when someone used an unknown sharp object to scratch the body. Damage was estimated at $500.

Vandalism A man was standing outside his 2003 Honda sport utility vehicle parked on Danfield Court near Still Meadow Road about 8 p.m. Sunday when someone fired a BB gun that shattered the car's rear window. Damage was set at $300.

Armed robbery Police were seeking two men, one who implied he was armed with a knife, who robbed a man, 45, of his wallet containing $115. The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Friday, when the victim answered a knock at the door of his home in the 100 block of Windy Falls Way. During the incident, one of the pair struck the victim in the face with his fist.

Burglary Someone broke into a house in the 1200 block of Limekiln Road through a rear door between Saturday night and Sunday morning and stole 180 $2 bills, four rolls of gold coins and $25 silver half-dollars.
