The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of a house fire on Washington Lane in Westminster that caused severe damage to a home Thursday.
Between 40 and 50 firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported at 11:40 a.m., according to Westminster Volunteer Fire Department PIO Robin Stansbury.
Stansbury said there was heavy fire on the first floor of the two-story, tri-level home, which extended to the second level.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to control the blaze, he said.
No one was home at the time of the fire, but two dogs were able to escape and are fine. There were no injuries Stansbury said.
Firefighters from Gamber, New Windsor, Reese, Sykesville, and Westminster volunteer fire departments responded to the call, he said.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
