Carroll cancels after-school activities Tuesday

Carroll County Public Schools has canceled all after-school activities after 6 p.m. because of a forecast calling for snow and freezing rain, school spokeswoman Carey Gaddis said.

A winter storm warning has been issued for Carroll County beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday. About two inches of snow is expected overnight followed by freezing rain early Wednesday.

There will be no after-school athletic games or matches, but practices and rehearsals can be held as long as they are finished by 6 p.m.

Non-Carroll County Public Schools activities in school facilities are permitted unless the snow emergency plan goes into effect.
