The shipment of a 370,000-pound power transformer through Westminster along Route 97 Sunday has been canceled for this weekend, according to the State Highway Administration.
The transport of the transformer was expected to cause delays and detours through the area.
SHA announced in a news release Thursday that the move was canceled because of a discrepancy in the weight of the load that will require additional planning and analysis.
The transformer, destined for Pennsylvania, was expected to depart Westminster at 6 a.m. Sunday and slowly travel north to Gettysburg. crossing the Pennsylvania state line at 6 a.m. Monday.
The move will be rescheduled for a later date, according to SHA.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
