McDaniel still working to restore power, some classes remain canceled

McDaniel College has canceled graduate classes Wednesday night and has delayed undergraduate classes until noon Thursday as crews continue to work to restore power to all buildings on campus.

Crews are expected to finish restoring power to the entire campus by Thursday, according to college spokeswoman Cheryl Knauer.

A transformer failure Sunday afternoon left most buildings without power and forced the college to close Monday. Power was restored to many academic and residential buildings Monday night and classes resumed Tuesday.

However, the Hoover Library, Baker Memorial Chapel, Gill Center and Merritt Hall have been without power since Sunday, Knauer said.
