Westminster Police release sketch of assault suspect

Westminster Police Department investigators have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for an assault that occurred on West Main Street in the area of McDaniel College on Friday, June 29.

According to police, on June 29 at about 2:30 p.m., officers were called to a residence on Windsor Drive regarding an assault which had just taken place. According to a female victim, she was walking west on West Main Street near the college at approximately 2 p.m. when she was approached by a male who was walking in the opposite direction.

As the subject approached he asked for a cigarette, and when she declined he grabbed her and pushed her into a nearby stone column. The victim fought with the suspect briefly before running away toward her home.

The suspect did not follow and was last observed on West Main Street in the area of the entrance to Bair Stadium. The victim sustained minor injuries in the assault.

The suspect is described as a white male, late 20s to early 30s, thin to medium build, very closely cropped dark hair, clean shaven, wearing red shorts and a white shirt.
