A little more than one month ago, five Carroll County entrepreneurs pitched their business proposals through Pitch Across Maryland.

Now the public has the opportunity to weigh in and make the Carroll entries a winner.

The 2013 Pitch Across Maryland videos can be viewed on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/StartupMaryland/videos.

Pitch Across Maryland is a three-week bus tour sponsored by Startup Maryland offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to promote their ideas through two- to four-minute videos and a live competition in November. The tour, now in its second year, stopped in Westminster Sept. 23 at Land Sea Air Manufacturing.

Carroll entrepreneurs in the contest include Greg Elbert with SeaSkate, Tom Hurley with HurleyIR, Punch Robinson with Knee Bouncers, Brian Wagner with SAR innovations and Chris Hogan of CartoLabs.

Pitch Across Maryland had 163 entrepreneurs pitch their business in 2013, which is a similar turnout to last year, according to Mike Binko, co-chair of Startup Maryland.

Votes can be cast up until noon on Nov. 6. Winners are expected to be announced shortly after.

While the Fan Favorite contest is ongoing, investors and entrepreneurs will be reviewing each video and selecting eight finalists, also known as "The Great 8."

The eight finalists will be invited to the Entrepreneur Expo Nov. 18 hosted by the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO).

The winner will earn a spot in the Invest Maryland Challenge, a contest sponsored by the state department of business and economic development, which offers four $100,000 prizes.

The eight finalists will be announced Nov. 13, according to Binko.
